About Chelsy: Chelsy’s love for holistic healing through food and supplements initiated while she was still a child. Her grandmother was an herbalist and lived in the home while Chelsy was growing up and taught a “healing through food” lifestyle. Throughout her childhood, she was often given simple herbal remedies for illness and used food as medicine instead of heading to the doctor for common ailments. With that experience she began to seek a greater understanding of how the bone broth and toast helped with a cold and how the papaya and BRATT diet helped with an upset belly.
While Chelsy was seeking her undergraduate degree, she worked for several health food retail stores and was the lead administrator for a massage school, those experiences allowed her to see the real world benefits of the education she was seeking. Chelsy earned her Bachelors Degree of Science with a major in Alternative Medicine and a minor in Nutrition in 2010. After Chelsy’s undergraduate degree was completed, she spent 2 years traveling with her two young children. During those years, learning about the applications of her education was enjoyed through working in the nutritional and nutrition supplement industries.
In early 2018 Chelsy graduated with her Masters of Public Health degree, with a concentration in Complementary Medicine and a minor in nutrition. That childhood influence and adult education is what continues to guide Chelsy through managing her own chronic illnesses and autoimmune disease with a sense of empowerment and control through food, supplements and growing new healthy habits regularly. Through her 10 years of experience in nutrition, nutritional supplements and the holistic healing industries, Chelsy has developed the experience and confidence in guiding others to a healthier lifestyle.
Info about Consult Holistic:
The goal is to improve your life. Each choice we make is part of a greater whole, if today we only make once choice better, than we are already on the road to improvement! My approach to health is through a process of forming new habits, teaching the body to love better choices and slowly change your whole outlook on life. I do not believe in “going on a diet”, unless you are training for a triathlon or body building contest, you don’t need a diet. I believe in forming healthy, lifelong habits that improve your quality of life. Food is fuel, our body is our engine, if we give the engine bad fuel it dies faster! Good fuel is vital to the proper maintenance of our body engines. I want to help you provide the proper maintenance to your body just as you do for the vehicle that takes you to your destinations. Healthy habits are the key, I can help you identify and gradually modify the bad into good habits to ensure a healthier lifestyle and improved quality of life.
I believe in apersonalized approach to nutrition, fitness and lifestyle with each client. The initial appointment is a 45 minute consultation where we complete a thorough assessment. During that initial conversation, we set goals (short and long term), andgo over medical history, dieting history, current nutrition knowledge. This better helps me to understand youreating style, personal attitude about food, weight, and dieting. The individual motivation level, and possible obstacles to making lifestyle changes are also addressed in order to best make plans to suit each client. As we are all unique so, too, are our healthy lifestyle plans. As you progress and incorporate new healthy habits your plans will change accordingly.
We will address:

Nutrition recommendations including simple habit changes
Tasty and healthy cooking and recipes stemming from current eating style
